Cruse control 740iL 1998

Had my 740iL parked for a couple of years while we were out of the country. After getting it registered again I find that the cruse control does not function. Anyone else had problems with the cruse control? Any suggestions.

Cruise Control

Start simple, slide under the dash and take a look at the stop light switch. These can hang up or just die, I have had to replace two in the last year, one on my 1988 750 and one on my 1996 Caravan and in both cases that cured my cruise control problems.
