actually, i think dynos makes mistake about 750 with automatic transmissions.
Here is my bmw 750i E38 dyno results http://e38.ee/bmw/dyno%20nitro%20130...%20rattast.jpg
dot-line is stock and line is with nitro (about +100hp)
Here is another stock 750 result http://www.robertlevinson.com/seven/...tock_750iL.jpg
almoust same, as mine stock
And here is with manual tranny http://www.robertlevinson.com/seven/..._PROJECT_X.jpg
Rob has changed tranny and output-intake folders(mybe +30hp) but manual transmission can't put more power to engine (dyno results was 290hp vs 335hp)

Here is some more pics and storyis bout my BMW http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2170697

Hi guys,

A friend sent me the link to this thread on my car... thanks for all your kind words!

Perhaps I can clear up a few details...

Started out that way... required significant modification to accept the later M73 engine's timing sensor integrated into the bellhousing and flywheel. We did the custom flywheel, based on the product we do for the E60 M5.

Ours are 400hp standard.
US M5s are the same. That dyno chart is wheel horsepower, not crank. A UK/Euro market M5 will show the same results.

No supercharger, no 6.0l... those were proposed ideas that never materialized. Performance mods were limited to a change in characteristics of the engine management with the transmission electronics change, ExtrudeHoned intake manifolds, overbored throttle bodies, full race cat and free-flow exhaust, and diff swap.

The dynos on the website show some, but not all, of that. Car is much stronger now, time fore new dyno sheets!

Yeah, that was a surprise. Of course it happened on a dark road around a blind curve in the middle of the night. Fun times.

Other way around. Project X was in the works first, and I consulted on Baby with the owner, Simeon, and the builder, VAC. It's a bit easier to do a 740 6-speed... all factory parts. Not so with the 750!

Heh. Considering I am the sponsor, you're right!

Actually, the folks at Polk were awesome about the audio system, they did help out with that. Absolutely amazing quality and their "dreamworks" shop is absolutely incredible.

This is the E38 I've been dreaming about since 1999 when the 740i Sport was introduced... I knew that something with just a little bit more salt could be built.
