BMW E32 730i ALARM PROBLEMS!!!

Hi, I have recently bought a 1993 BMW 730i E32.

Does any body know how to reset or reprogram the alarm system. It is factory fitted. The problem is when you reconnect the battery after it has been disconnected, and you lock or unlock the car via the key fob, the headlights come and stay on. The only way to turn them off is to disconnect the battery, and your back to square one. It has something to do with the immobiliser or alarm.

Any ideas, very welcome
