Help: Insight on 740i purchase.
Hi everyone,
I'm new here, my name is Tyler and I've recently entered the world of used car resale. I buy bargains that are in relatively good working order mechanically and deal with the cosmetics then I resell for profit. So far I've flipped a 93 Nissan Sentra, 85 Mercedes 300D, a handful of Hondas and a VW Cabrio. This will be my first BMW.
The car in question is a 1994 740i in black with tan interior. The car has a new engine and transmission that was replaced 17k miles ago through BMW due to the known issues with the motor that originally came in that car. This is a high selling point.
The electronics are all in working order, and there are no computer related malfunctions.
The brakes and tires need replaced, and I am most concerned as to how wacky of a job that is a BMW. On my father's Volvo, the rotors and pads have to be replaced together, you can't simply just replace the pads and turn the rotors. Little things like that is what I'm worried about. Honestly, I will probably seek a run of the mill repair shop to do the brake job, as the cost factor of using a dealer or a specialist makes my profit margin smaller.
Lastly, I assume the new tires can be mounted and balanced just like any other car? I'm reallly, really new to BMW's.
The body is in decent shape, though it will require extensive reconditioning to bring it to my standards. I'm hoping to score the car for $2500. The current owner is a lawyer who bought the car in 98 from a BMW dealer as a CPO car, and said that he was religious about getting his oil changed every 3k miles. I will be seeking records of this claim.
So what am I getting myself into, Bimmer guys?
Thanks!

If youve replaced brakes on a car before then this will be cake to replace. All you will need is a 7mm allen to remove the caliper, eather a 16,18 or 19mm to remove the caliper bracket and a 6mm allen to remove the rotor. No grease to mess with, just nuts and bolts.
