Thumbs up How to re-attached the Bowden cable when the door wont open

Hi there, was wondering if anybody could shed some light on my door prob. 1 month ago during the freeze my front passenger door stopped working. I took it to the local garage and they fixed the prob which lasted for 3 days. The cable that connects the door handle to the locking door latch (Bowden cable) has become disconnected at the door lock end I assume. The problem is how do I remove the door card when the door wont open to get to the internals so I can release the door and fix the problem permantly. If anybodys got any info or pics of a fix it would be gratefully apreciated.

Andy..........

bowden cable

Hi Andy I to have bmw 7 series with a snapped bowden cable that connects my outside door handle to the latch
I have removed the bowden cable successfully its tricky job. Here’s how to do it you need to remove inside door handle you will need to remove inside door card you will need to remove side air bag
Disconnect power ie battery or power cable going to air bag also there is a light at bottem of door card you will need to remove
You will need to remove speakers you will need to remove outside door handle you will need to remove two bolts out side door handle you will need to remove outside door handle frame
You will need to remove bolts that hold main side lock middle of door. You will need to take out the door tumbler or barrel this has the housing for the boden cable this is my driver’s door. Hears a link that might help http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E3...rol_door_lock/
I will be refitting a new cable I can take a few snaps that might help I would only take on the job if you are very handy at taking something apart and putting everything like you were never there
