Question HELP - 1998 E38 won't start

When the ignition is turned the interior electronics work (Tilt wheel adjusts, radio works and dash electronics work); however, there is no sound from the starter. Had made two previous stops and the car started perfectly. This time it had been 5 minutes since the last start. Have disconnected and reconnected the battery cable to no avail. Have not tried reprogramming the key although key remote locks and unlocks vehicle. Also, have checked some of the fuses labeled electrical-engine. Could this be a fuse? Is there an EWS fuse. Car is in safe area but not nearby. Any and all help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing it may be the starter relay

i am guessing this would be an ews issue- you might have more luck in a forum called bimmerboard . there are a lot of experts there. i hope it is okay to mention this here- i am very new, and dont mean to offend anyone- just trying to help.
