the car is dark green! heh, i wanted to paint over the carbon fiber either way tho, just strait black, and if not, i wanted to do hood pins, because im going for a dodge charger look with smoking out everything and the sound.
how do you see a ricer out of that mod? it sounds like an old sl500 with strait pipes right now. totally opposite of a ricer. c'mmmooonnnn maaannnnn

okay okay I got you wrong there...
I just couldn't get the image of a 7er with CF hoods...
I searched on the web yesterday looking for your CF hoods but coudlN't find any either
I saw a couple hood pins but I can't remember the site
The V8 certainly has a cool sound, expecially with the right exhaust setup
gotta love the rumble, maan

exhauuust
yeah, when i had an '02 cherokee limited with the 4.7L V8, i just chopped main muffler/resonator (that thing was like 3 feet long) and it sounded like a freakin cobra mustang. apparently those 4.7 motors were actually built by mercedes and thats why the note was so nice...so i pulled both rear silencers off the 7 and it kept the same note, just an even nicer sound...im working on the center mufflers here really soon. shooting for the '68 hemi or the 66' shelby sound . ill have videos up soon.
peace

You could call vorsteiner and see if they are selling carbon fiber hoods or fabricate one for you. Unfortunately, the 7 series isn't the most popular car to mod, hence less aftermarket companies make products for them.
Try www.beastpower.com. The owner of the company is Daniel. Shoot him an email and he might be able to give you more info about a CF hood.

are you going for weight reduction? most that paint CF have this goal in mind... i'm just missing your point? That is a goal of mine for the M3 at some point- hood / trunk, but I'm painting as well. i dont like the look of CF personally- no offense- that's why there are choices- to each his own!

If you're going for weight reduction, try to find a straight hood from an early E38 at a breaker, and bring a magnet. Some early E38s had aluminum hoods! This part is NLA, can't get one new any more. Test the hood with the magnet - if the magnet does not stick, it's aluminum.
