Differential cover for '83 733i
Does anyone know where I can purchase a rear differential cover? SEVERE wheel hop resulted in the "mounting arm"(?) (part of the casting) to snap in half. I've been searching online for one, but to no avail. Anybody able and willing to point me in the right direction, short of a salvage yard? Thanks in advance.

Other then ebay for a whole diff, a junk yard if you can even find a 7 that old. A dealer, doubtful due to the age but you never know. You might want to check if a e28 diff cover will fit, that might be your only hope is using something that doesnt even go to your car.
That must have been some severe wheel hop, sure you didnt mean that the car was airborne?

Check out the pics.....
SEVERE wheel hop....wet road, behind time and tried to hurry and get going once the light turned green....rearend hopped violently and this was the result. All in a matter of seconds. Limped it back home (about 2 miles). Check out the severe camber. Differential is only about 1 inch off the ground. Rubbed the pavement a few times on the way.
Found a cover at a local salvage yard....$25 with the rubber mount. Took me 15 minutes to remove it. Thanks for the responses!!
