2007 750IL strange problems
 

All has been going well except for today.
I was out today and when I went back to the car, the FM radio station I listen to was silent.
I tried changing to AM and that was gone too.
I tried changing channels and ALL FM and AM stations were out.

When I went to FM mode and turned up the volume all the way, I just got a hiss from the speakers and no music
I checked and the BOTH cd drives and the satellite radio worked normally.


I went back to my apartment and came down to go out about an hour later.
I unlocked the car and entered as usual and both the FM radio and the AM now work perfectly.

However, now the pushbutton starter button won't work and a message comes up on the dash
about 'something remote' .

When I put the remote key in the manual inlet, the pushbutton works normally and it will allow me one start when the key is out and then won't work again.

This is very disturbing, needless to say.

With a 07 750il dont expect to get any help from internet forums. The 7's are so technical that BMW technicans take a 2 week training class on them.
With your radio not working is might be a programming issue with your "CCC" moduel which controls all your entertainment devices.
The message you might possibly be reciving for your key is that the battery in the key remote is discharged and needs to be charged.
Thats why the car will not start with the key in your pocket, the key is not sending a signal to the vehicle to start, it needs a direct input from your ignition.

If you do not charge your key once in a while your lock/unlock and comfort access start will not work, as in your case. Only way to charge the key is to put it into the slot while you drive.
