Whine...
I have an interesting occurance here... between 2250 & 2500rpms in 4th (highway, 60-70mph area) I get a whine almost identical to a turbo spinning up, my car doesn't have a turbo, and it only happens during that time. it rises in pitch as the rpms go up, and disapears just after about 2600rpm.... I'm not sure if this is something I should be concerned about, the car runs fine, no change in fuel economy, idle, throtle response, etc. Ideas maybe?
Thanks!

possible alternator or P/S bearing - try revving up in nuetral to those RPMs (hopefully it's not a transmission issue)

belts are good, pully is fine, revved in P & N to those rpms and nothing... it's only on the road when in 4th. Wondering if it may be one of my wheel bearings? I was planning on checking/greasing them anyhow, may need to sooner than thought.

I'd look at the diff first. Either that or it is your transmission.
Wheel bearings would whine pretty constantly.

I'm hoping it's not the tranny or diff... it appears to be coming from the front of the car, passenger's side based on my listening to it while driving... and it's easier to hear with all the windows rolled up (no outside noise). I'm going to do my best to check what I can this weekend... wish me luck.

which car is this? the problem is, if its your diff, theres really no way to tell other than pinpointing if the noise is coming from there or not, and i think most of the time a fluid change will fix it

It's on the L7... I'll start checking everything this weekend if I can, hopefully I'll be able to have someone help me pinpoint the sounds origin. If I had a way to securely block the car up and put it in gear to try and locate the issue I would.
