More specifically, it's called alternator whine. Try grounding one of the RCA cable's (-) connections. It's the metal ring part of the plug, not the center pin. That's what I did to mine at the head unit end, and the whine went away. On some plugs, you can unscrew the plug cover to get to the wires.
