there is nothing wrong with redlining your car. there is nothing wrong with bouncing off the rev limiter. the car will cut the fuel when it reaches redline reguardless of transmission during acceleration. the problem comes when you're in a high gear, and downshift into a low gear and the revs go up and beyond the rev limiter. this is when things go wrong in the engine. this is assuming you have the stock limiter.
