Since it's on its way out, maybe you can do some experimenting with those engine restorer products they always have at Pep Boys or AutoZone, see if they work at all for restoring compression. At this point you probably couldn't do worse damage anyhow. I doubt it'll work, but hey- it's worth a shot for a couple of bucks.
On another note, maybe get your injectors blown out if you think it's worth it.
