removing interior trim?

hello, i am wanting to remove and paint my wood trim to a more modern and stylish gloss black or brushed allum color but i dont want to damage the trim while removing it, can anyone tell me if they are clamped on or glued or what. also i planned on sanging them and spraying them with the krylon plastic paint, can anyone tell me if they know if this will work or will it peel or scratch off! would taking them to an auto paint garrage be better! thanks!! also any suggestions on a color that would look best!! i have a grey and black interior with titanium silver exterior! i dont like the wood trim color!

Previous gen cars were just snap in, a trim removal tool should do it just fine. The Krylon plastic paint should be fine, paint it. Let it dry thoroughly and then clear coat it, should be fine. But let it dry hard for about a week before you re-install it.
