ALPINA is what but BMW on the map back in 1972...when the founder of ALPINA was looking for a motor company to experiment with and use new technique for increasing HP. This dude was like Torque...he was all about HP increases.
An at the 1965 Auto Show..this guy fell in love with the BMW 1500 and got permission from BMW to modify the car for racing purposes.
Anyway, his alpina modification made BMW win alot of world class racing championships and BMW gavee him full permission and alot of mone to experiment on many of the cars...
because of ALPINA we got V12 engines in the 750i during the early 80s...
During the 90's ALPINA created B12 engines in the 5 series BMW. and the ALPINA e39 is like one my favorite cars of all time. ALPINA is a combination of style, handling and engine power.
