DIY (please sticky):Blown Rear Shock Mounts!? E36 Tower Complete Replacment!

Guess What I found? and actual DIY for fixing this:

THIS DIY is CREDITED to THIS LINK:

BMW E36 M3 Rear Shock Tower Replacement

A very common problem with the BMW E36 cars is that the rear shock rips the rear shock tower mounting holes. The only way to properly fix this is to replace the tower with a new factory piece. You can then use the Z3 rear shock tower re-enforcement plates to help strengthen the top of the shock tower. Most after market rear shock tower braces also have a re-enforcement plate that mounts the brace on the car. The owner of this car also had us install the Ground Control rear shock mounts.

The guy that did this confirmed that the welding labor is moderately easy and should be in the $300 range plus parts...also by getting the Z3 reinforced shock tower it will make it better than the original OEM E36 tower!

I'm happy again...

I also found a BMW mechanic and tommorrow he will look at it. He even admitted that it happens with E36s all the time and he's done the same repairs lots of time before...
