delmarco is completely right..

The e90 is growing on me, but it will never have the appeal (to me at least) that the e30 and e36 have. I would take my car over an e46 r e90 325i anyday of the week.

rant coming on sorry...

They should be making these cars SMALLER, not LARGER. They do this because they want more luxurious interiors and more electronic gadgets that no one fucking needs.

What they should be doing is using that magnesium engine to further the lightness of the car, instead of using it to make up for the heaviness of the fat pig e90.

Look at the car market today.. more than ever there is a booming industry in the compact, extremely sporty, and fast market place.. BMW should take advantage of this and build a car that is small, has unbeleivable handling, and is powerful, not cater to the needs of soccer moms buying automatic bimmers.

People may lay claim to the argument that there is a large market place in the soccer mom consumer area, and that may be true, but as is easily seen there is an even bigger consumer standing in the small and sport scene.. look at the WRX, STI, EVO.. i mean i must see 20 wrx's a day, because they are nice cars that are fun to drive. Obviously price plays a role here, but your not telling me a new bmw equivlent in speed and handling to the e36 M3 - could easily be much faster than the E36 M3, the technology is here NOW for that to happen (The new 330 makes what 260 HP?(AND has a lighter engine but isnt even as fast as an e36 M3 because its a fat piggy)) - wouldnt sell like crazy?

They have the means to build a great performance car at a reasonable price, but they choose not to.. the e36 M3 is almost 11 years old now, and still out ranks bmw's best performance car in the 35-45k range. Thats ridiculous. BMW could be building JAW dropping affordable performance cars that would be selling like crazy.. but they choose not to because they want to sell to rich old ladies instead of 20-40 year old dudes.

end rant......
