On the way to Kansas City....it was interesting.
I got on the Turnpike...and followed a Hundai Sonata (sp?) He had a radar detector on too...but I passed him and he followed me. We were going...oh 85-90....when my radar detector goes off and then goes back to Highway mode. I slow down and sure enough...2-3 miles ahead...a State Trooper. So I set the cruise at 70 (the speed limit) and pass him. As soon as I thought it was safe...I sped back up and passed everybody.
Of course the Hundai followed me. THEN! This old nasty white Toyota Corola (1987).....hehehe with 2 old women are tailing the Hundai. I saw it in my rear view. I slowed way down and thought it was a cop. So I looked at them and then zoomed off. They followed me...for a couple miles...and then the Hundai passed the white Corola and then we continued on. Until....I was JUST about 20 miles from the Turnpike exit....when I looked ahead and saw the red explorer slam on her breaks. I looked to the left...there was a semi blocking the right hand side. I looked over and there was a State Trooper that popped out the end as we passed (the Trooper) with his radar gun pointed south. As I was parallel with him (the Trooper) when he had his radar gun pointed south.
I quickly got in front of the semi-truck and slowed wayyyy down. A different car got behind me. All of a sudden... in my rear-view mirror I saw the Trooper was speeding up to pull somebody over. I knew it was going to be one of us. I was super afraid it was going to be me. I pulled my radar detector off and put it away. I watched my rear-view mirror the whole time. Then off to the right behind the semi...pulling into the median was the OLD nasty crappy white Corola with the 2 old ladies....well they were in their late 40s...LOL. I was clapping and laughing. I waved to the semi-truck and thanked him for blocking the Trooper from getting me. I was sooo scared and relieved that it wasn't me...I was going 5-10mph UNDER the speed limit to cool off. Until the Hundai pulled next to me...and we exchanged gestures as well as some laughter expressions. It was hilarous. I mentioned to him...."1 more time". And I re-put my radar stuff back up....and hit the gas.
We hit the toll booth of the Turnpike...and he was behind me. I asked the pay lady for me to pay for the car behind me. I told her to pass on a message from me to him. She said, "yes". I said. "tell the guy behind me.....That I didn't like her anyway". LOL. She said ok. I paid and left. I never saw him again. I wonder what he was thinking or response was. I bet it was great!
