yep, that is why it is a VERY ricky and controversial business move by GM. From a marketing prospective, it is enticing and probably will increase sales on their cars, in the short term. The problem arises after the promotion ends, will GM sales fall to the levels it has seen in the past year? I think so, people are realizing GM cars are overpriced pieces of shi*.
From a financial view, GM is taking millions of dollars in losses in order to hopefully (the key work) boost sales in the long term. G is facing a tough road ahead, but the best solution is to reduce the number of models offered. There should be only 2 Buicks, not 6!!!
But i digress. BMW should not be offered at the employee discount.
