I know that when my ICV needed replacing it wouldn't idle at all. The car would start, and then immediately die. I had to constantly keep on the throttle a little bit or it would stall. If yours is just idling really rough start with a vacuum line. Disconnect the MAF and se of that fixes it.
The PCV is a valve so check to make sure it's not worn out. As for oil sputtering from the dipstick I've never had it removed with the car running so I wouldn't be able to say.
