Would this Pass? - United Bimmer Community

This is a picture of my rear left shock tower. Would this pass an inspection at a track? I am interested in doing autocross at PIR (Portland not Phoenix) but i wasnt sure if this would pass inspection or not.

I second both responses from Whiteshark and Nick. I wouldn't even drive it until I get that fixed. That's an accident waiting to happen.

so what do you think would be the best way to fix this? find a parts car and chop out the trunk? cut it out and put sheet metal in? whats the best and strongest way?

i hope he duct tape ist holding anything in.

I know with E36's you can cut out the shock tower and weld a new one in there..not sure for "02"s

You need to get new metal from somewhere and have someone weld it in. That will not pass inspection at a track, I wouldn't drive that on the street.
