I just discovered that there is an incompatibility between my 1987 E30 325is chassis and the donor engine from a 1988 325i. After attempting to spin the car over to prime the oil galleries prior to starting, I noticed smoking wiring in the vicinity of the fuel and master control relays on the driver's side fender.
Any help in troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated. I confess that after the smoke and hot wiring I became discouraged and have not ventured any further in the diagnostics. A kind word would surely go a long way about now.
