I got ride of my E46-2002 High-Line, with steptronic gearbox for 450Km at a speed of 160-190Km/h and after reaching the city I'm going to and cooled down my speed, the gear light warning is being let and the transmission is performing on emergency state, after stopping the car for 30min, the error has gone and the gear worked as expected.
When I drive my car again, I noticed that I have the same error each time my speed exceeds 140Km/h or when I kick-down.
So, I had to drive home with the warning lamp is on for the 300Km at a speed of 100Km/h, 2500rpm on gear 5 (manual mode)
By reading the EGS memory faults, I had the following errors:
21 EGS: Speed sensor, turbine
53 EGS: Control module, internal fault 4 (FET1)
54 EGS: Control module, internal fault 4 (FET2)
3C EGS: Transmission switch (plausibility) - sporadic fault
72 EGS: Steptronic switch - General fault
- What do you thing this can be related to?! taking in account that when I stop the car for 1 minute, the gear box performs as expected in normal mode.
Do you think it's something related to the gearbox oil or filter?!
Do you think it's safe to replace both the gearbox oil and filter?!
