First post, looked for ages for the tread that containd the issues relevent for this exact problem.
Symptoms: free play i n steering, random direction changes when a bump was hit, and understeer in to a corner, then oversteer and then understeer out.. ( much different to usual)
Solution: wheel alignment. attached is the values used, the camber i decided to keep at around .5
