Very much appreciate the write up, quite often when people have a problem with a rough idle, particularly on a newly acquired used and older car, it's because the previous owner abused it and didn't maintain it well, if at all. In cases like that it's generally back to basics, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, etc. Guess there was some evidence of that here, but also you bring up other points, such as hoses needing to be replaced, components dismantled and cleaned, connections checked as these chariots age.
