Recently I bought myself the E30 restoration bible, and the first section I looked into was modifying your E30. There was a stroker section in there. I read that you can use the Eta crank and rods with later "i" euro pistons. That would give a compression of around 10:1. Is this really possible? I've read somewhere that the pistons would stick out 3mm. My plan was to do that, with 1mm oversize custom pistons to euro compression spec, and valve reliefs. Would they really stick out 3mm above the deck, or is this just a myth?
