This is my first BMW and probably not my last. Having admired BMWs when I would see one, it struck me - why not buy one? My Grandson and I were out roaming around one day, prior to my returning to work in Argentina, and he spies a reeeaaaly nice 2001 540i at a dealer. It was closed over the weekend so we looked at the car and liked it. To make a long story short, we went back the next day, struck a deal and drove off with the car. I had to come back to work 4 days later and the wife said she would take good care of "my car". I guess she is, she's never home now when I call. In any case, it is a great deal of fun to drive, looks good and that thing sure is fast. I am now working a bit more to build a war chest, just in case, after reading some of the stories on these forums. I plan on keeping the car in as good a shape or better than when I got it. Looking forward to associating with you folks in the future.
