i just went to a new shop in leoti(25 miles away) to get a brake line because the shop in tribune dosnt do metric stuff. heres how the convo went:
"do you guys do metric brake lines?
"yep! whats it for?"
"a vw bug"
" oh, are you guys from tribune?"
"yeah"
"is this for that bug with the porsche engine?"
"uuhh.. yeah it is"
"oh man.. that thing is badass!"
im still stumped as to how he knew out my bug. i have never talked to this guy before, yet he knows what my bug looks like. after talking to him for about an hour or so(REALLY nice guy) i told him i was thinking about going to mechanic school, and he offered me a job after i finished school. he said "well, there will always be a job opening here for you!". ill deffinatly be going back there. haha. he has an AWESOME shop. after i get some money saved up im taking my bug there and hes going to turbo it. he said it would cost about 1,000 because in custom builds like that he usualy rebuilds junk yard turbos and uses them. im going back over there tomarrow, ill try to get some pictures of his cars
he has a turbo dodge stealth(500HP) a turbo 240sx that hes working on, and a turbo neon as his daily driver. hes trying to get a dyno too, so once he does, expect some dyno videos of the bug
