I work at a hospital and I can't even tell you how many MVA victims are brought in unrestrained, and die from vehicle ejections or from major trauma caused by airbag deployment w/o seatbelt use. If they don't die, many of them end up with paralysis from spinal injuries, or spend weeks to months for other complications, breathing and eating through tubes. You not only change your life with that fateful decision not to click in, but of those around you- your family, friends, even the emergency personnel trying to help you. It's no joke man, discomfort is a poor excuse for not wearing the belt. And you can run all the numbers you want to, citing injuries caused by seatbelts, but what is irrefutable is that more people survive crashes in seatbelts than without.
As far as the cops are concerned, NJ laws changed in 2000. They no longer need a different primary reason to pull you over. They can now stop you and fine you simply for non-use, whether it's you, your front seat passenger, or both.

I know, my cousin was a trama nurse in Newark & she said there are 3 points of impact: 1) your car's impact, 2)your head hitting the windshield, & 3)your brains hitting your skull! She also said she would see them in there photo drivers license & not be able to recognize them after there accident!!!
