So, my car died. Ive replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, Mass airflow boot (was bad to begin with), and DME (used). I read somewhere that if i wasn't receiving 12v to pin 85 on the DME relay switch that i had a bad DME. Questoin is, did i get another bad DME? Or, do i need to reprogram the DME to work with the car. All this time i fugured i would just swap the DME and be done with it. I hadn't replaced the DME relay or the fuel pump relay because I found that I wasnt getting the proper voltage to the DME relay Pin 85. Im getting .30v - .36v when the key is in position #2 and when I have someone turn the key to start it. I may just replace them anyway.
Testing I have done.
-12V to the fuel pump, it works i hear it buz.
-Sprayed starter fluid in the intake, the car runs as long as there is fluid.
-Car turns over just fine, not getting any gas to the car.
-Tried a Pedal Stop i got "3214" I didn't find the code anywhere.
-Disconnected the battery completely, touched - and + to drain any electricity. (no luck)
Something I need to try is swapping the chip from the old DME to the new(used) one. I also want to check if there might be a wiring problem between the DME relay and the DME. I would need some insight on how to do this if its even possible.
Any insight on this would be helpful.
Thank you
