The way i liken the situation is that if they're public about it, where do you put them? a male homosexual in a male barracks is like putitng a straight male in female barracks. there's no guarrantee that someone will get raped, but its still a possibility. With the current policy of DADT, the military has plausible deniability, which leaves the burden of doing (or not doing) the right thing on the individual (where the burden should be all along).

i think i agree with that, the burden should be on the individual, what if he feels that he is compromising his unit though, what then? who does he go to?
BTW, you cant hide either...
