Yeah, I would like a good project car to have lying around to work on. A 635CSi would be awesome, yet none are for sale in my area, this is actually the first E24 I've ever personally seen.
I drove it and it runs good, it shakes a little at idle but nothing major. One concern I have and with what little knowledge I have I can't figure out right away is: I pulled on a dirt road to turn around and take it back and it died when I took it from reverse to drive? Started right up and ran fine. A/C doesn't work, not a big deal. The left rear fender is rusted a good bit and the right is on its was but its ok. The passenger door also has the rus spot found it the bottom corner but not as bad.
It has had two owners, a man that bought it new in 77(last year it was made, at adds a little appeal) and owned it until he died. Second owner got it at the estate sale. One thing I don't like is the fact that the second owner took out the 1,000 buck optional radio that the original owner ordered on it and replaced it. Took it with him so if I want any tunes I'll be getting a radio. The guy selling it said 2500, and then said everyone that had llokd at it so far had never seen anything like it and asked me if I had. I said yeah and spit out some tid bits about the 3.0 it replaced and 77 being the last year of the 630 and gave the line up from then until the 6 went out of production....he sttod for a sec and said I'll let it go for 1500 cash
I'm sure I could have talked him down to that but it was more fun making him look like an idiot when he thought he was the only person who even knew what a 6er was.
I was wondering what if anything I could take from an E30 and put into it? Thanks everybody.
edit: Can you tuck those bumpers? I really hate the American bumpers, they are a complete joke on everything they were on.
