At least on the bigger Bimmers the bushings will fail rapidly if the bolts thru the bushings are tightened and torqued while the suspension is hanging down.

You must put the weight of the car on the suspension before tightening to get them to last. Otherwise the internal bushing damping preload is applied in the wrong direction and the bushings are already at the end of their internal travel when the weight is applied to them.
