I think that color was called Colorado, so characteristic of the times. I wonder if they might reconsider it for when (if) they bring the 1 series here, maybe we're re-entering a funky era.
As to the tii, I guess BMW chose that for their museum for being the top of the 02 line so far as outright performance was concerned, but even at that I believe production was relatively minor. In any event, as I recall the stock 2002 did quite well...
One other bit of nostalgia, I remember the vent windows (!), the punch out rear passenger windows (quite good ventilation actually), and the turn signal stalk being on the right side of the steering column. Of course, cup holders were nowhere on the horizon...
