Didn't think about the pedal not returning you got me there, (thanks for the correction) however; I can tell you from experience, as I just had this happen, you don't always hear scraping. In fact you don't necessarily have to hear anything. Just depends how stuff breaks.The only good news I had was that my slave cylander was ok....everything else was trashed.
