I have been checking on putting a turbo between the carb and intake and with research this is capable of increasing fuel economy and power. It takes some serious modification to mount, but a guy who did it to his 70's model 318ci Dodge pick up found that it increased his fuel economy from 17 to 29 miles per gallon at 7 psi. I Am still checking on the spacifics and looking for a small turbo for my own experiment on a 1979 1500 triumph spitfire. It makes sence that jthe turbo would better atomize the fuel/ air mix but I am concerned with the blowoff being a little flamable. I am not an engineer nor do I have a death wish. Does anyone have any I deas on this. It may be a little too much work on an old Ford.
