Gotta love an afternoon that ends with a success story! I finally decided to find the washer reservoir and pump and discovered it behind the right front tire well, hidden by the wheel well cover. I was able to remove enough screws to pry the cover forward enough to view the pump. Having had an experience with an old SAAB 9000 whose washer pump stopped working but was revived by a gentle tap with the end of a screwdriver, I enlisted a helper to hold the washer control on and tapped the pump with my screwdriver handle and voila!
the pump began to spin. I suppose I now should buy a new pump, but am sure that if I do, this one will go indefinitely. If I don't it will quit tomorrow. What to do? Thanks again for the help. This is a great resource for a person learnng about a "new" vehicle.
