BMWLotAttendant, you remind me of my least favorite aunt. You are both able to take a very specific declaration and draw big generalizations from it. We were once having lunch and she asked me if I wanted to have some chicken, which I declined. Now she thinks I don't like chicken.

I admire the M6 coupe in terms of technology and own-your-ass potential, but I think it is ugly. If I had the money for the vert, I would just pocket the extra cash and stick with the coupe. The only reason I can think of for BMW M to make convertibles, is because they sell. Otherwise, the idea of a high-performance car with a converible top is an oxymoron.

I like coupes. I just don't like the looks of the current 6 Series chassis.

The M6 convertible weighs 400lb more than the M5 (and 500lb more than the M6 coupe, thanks to the CF roof), and is 0.1 second slower to 60 from a dead stop that both the M5 and the M6 coupe. That is why I don't like convertibles -- I don't want the added weight.

The only thing that the M6 has that I wish the M5 had is the CF roof.

Coupes are a lot faster than sedans? That is a broad generalization.

By the way, the "he could get the most expensive car that BMW has" part was evident. I just shared my opinion, which is that I would rather just get what I would want to have right away, instead of getting something just because it is more expensive to begin with.

And no, I haven't had the opportunity to drive these cars. But I think one can decide if one thinks a car is ugly just by looking at it, right? I would hate to have to make out with every girl I meet just to decide that she is ugly...

Finally, I am not saying my tastes are the right tastes to have. I am just saying that the current 6 Series looks ugly to me.
