heres some of the photos. the rifles he is holding are Mosin Nagant Model 44's. a modified version of a rifle designed in 1891.
the M44 is a bolt action carbine, with a folding spike bayonet. it replaced the M91/30 as the Soviet main battle rifle at the end of the war, and only lasted a few years before being replaced by the SKS and ultimatly the AK47.
when the Soviets adopted the SKS they saw a chance to arm thier allies with M44's, with out creating a situation of small arms equality. cant have the son be stronger than his father
so millions of m44's were given to various Com Bloc nations and hot spots across the globe.the designs and machinery to manufacter them were given to a number of nations, Romania, Poland, China ( as the type 53) and a great number more. and in return these nations manufactered millions and disributed them .
some of these nations, such as china would soo adopt the SKS as well. and then regifted the machines to places like North Korea and Vietnam.
these rifles have been in ever hot spot around the globe, from thier debut in WW2, to use in Korean war, Vietnam war, Afghanistan, Ireland, South america, Africa and more. they are still encounterd by US forces in some of the finest shit holes known to man
millions have been made and can be bought for about 80$ a piece
hold 5 rounds of 7.62X54r ammo.
Mosin Nagants have had Dozens of nations make them, at dozens of manufacters with over a dozen major models, and hundreds of sub types they are very afordable for a firearm collection.
so no, this guy isnt stocking up, or "a weapons cache" as most people would claim
