E23 L7 Dashboard Removal

I'm somewhat stumped on this one... I've removed the center console, stereo, lower paneling, glovebox, and 4 nuts from the underside of the dash. Yet it still won't come up. I've got the A-pillar covers off, the front of the dash moves, but the rear is stuck. I'm wondering if there are other nuts I have to remove to get the blasted thing off (replacing heater core)

Lastly, there's a 4 wire plug w/ 1 wire snipped and tapped into a same colored wire on the main harness for the climate control(larger wiring harness) - it's purple/white I believe (4 wire plug - red, space, brown/white, brown, purple/white.) Wondering if anyone knows what that's for? I don't see anything for the plug to go to, so I'm not sure why it's been cut and tapped into the other line. Thanks!
