Well, it's been a while since I've been on here...
I've been Bimmer-less for about a month (blew the transmission).
So I got the quote for pats and labor from my local transmission shop and it was $4,469.07. I guess the clutches were shot, the rear planetary and a host of other parts. Not only do I not know what the hell those things are, but they're too much money, lol.
So in the search for a new transmission, I found www.phoenixhardparts.com
. More specifically, the link to my tranny is here: http://www.phoenixhardparts.com/inde...PROD&ProdID=49
. It's a GM 4L30E.
I paid $1,860.00 including the $550.00 core charge and the $260.00 shipping. This includes the shipping to get mine back to Arizona to get my $550.00 refund for the core charge.
The labor to put the new one in, including the seals, gaskets, fluid, etc is $1,015.00.
So the tranny minus the core charge, plus the labor is $2,325.00.
In case anyone blows a tranny and needs a rebuilt one, this is the cheapest I could find.
Wasnt sure if anyone could find this useful....
I should have my baby back a week from today. UGH...
I should ask the garage to take some pics just for fun....
