The Bentley manual has a procedure for bleeding the brakes, but it warns that it is not applicable to cars with AST, automatic stability control, which my car has, saying that "special BMW service equipment is required." Yet in checking the various on-line DIY sites for bleeding the brakes I have encountered no mention of this whatsoever, and I doubt that AST is that rare a feature on 3-series. Is Bentley playing it overly cautiously for some reason? Anyone know what's up with this?
