The 'flooded DME' issue was resolved after MY '95, so it's definitely not that. xsperf may be on to something tho . . could be the ICV or TPS. You could have gotten water or moisture into the ICV or its lines, which in turn can cause your TPS to behave erratically. If that's the case, just clean it and dry it out, and you should be good to go. Also try and see it the car has any fault codes stored.
