Should he buy....

1) e30 (As Storamin says)
2) e36 (As he originally found)
3) e46 (As I say)

FYI: I never said I recommended an e30. I just said I would feel confident in recommending an e30 to someone who drove a camaro... personally I would go with an e36 m3.
